I Got it translated for you! Here it is in English:

"the ocean's sleep stopped
when the monster arrived
after four toasts,
in the night they didn' sleep"

Would you be able to share the original Japanese that you used to
make this translation? I shared what I believe is the original poem
earlier, but the one I have heard so often doesn't contain any
reference to monsters.

Maybe there are more than one poem out there?

Thanks!

Unfortunately I only have the italian translation...I'm attending the third year in the "La Sapienza" University and I' m studying japanese..so I would like that poem in the original language to translate it. Some of you gentlemen send me a mail with, probably, japanese fonts. Am I wrong? If this is the true that person, Oyakata should be his nickname I think, would be so nice if he could send to my e-mail address that file using microsoft word or, better, jwpce. I apologize for this further request.
Thanks a lot.
Daniele

Daniel,

I've put the poem up at my website two ways. First, as regular
Japanese text, which you should be able to copy and paste into Word
or JPWCE, even if you can't read it in your internet browser.

I also put it up as a jpeg so you can see what the text will look
like when you've successfully moved it into Word/JPWCE.

Let me know if this doesn't work for you:

I know I've already bored you but do you know also the name of the poem?

Is it JOUKISEN? If is that can you tell me with what kanji it is written?

Thank you again!

Daniele
