the lastest samurai

by kitsuno

It looks like that article from the sun a while back about the guy
claiming to be a samurai was serious, albeit stupidm of course:

http://www.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/getarticle.pl5?fl20040203zg.htm

And most importantly:

"However, the Office of the Imperial Household has told The Japan
Times that it has no practice or system of granting such titles.

The samurai class ceased to exist 130 years ago, with the abolition
of Japan's feudal system at the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate in
1868."

I think that the Imperial staff has already said that. I certainly
hope that the Emperor doesn't waste his time on this loser. When the
truth comes out, I'd expect that dork to lie about some other claim
to fame. Maybe he was dubbed a Conquistador by the King of Spain
too.
