First visit to Japan

by thomas5403

Dear all -

It looks like I might get two weeks in Japan this year!

Ideally I would like to visit the Okazaki area and get a feel for the
old Matsudaira stomping grounds. What can I hope to achieve in
that time? When's the best time to go? What should I not miss,
and what should I not bother with?

Does anything still exist, besides castles and museums?

Probably a thousand other questions, but any advice/thoughts/
comments would be useful.

Tom

If you visit Toukyou, don't forget Ueno's Park's Museums, mainly the
archeologycal one.... lot's of armours, katanas, etc..., from the XV -
XVIIth centuries..., even rests from the first christians in Japan...
