Hi

As far as I am aware Sarutobi Sasuke is a fictional
character created in the Meiji era and was supposed to
have been Ninja

Kirigakure I think is also a meiji era fictional ninja

I can´t avoid remember the history of "Azumi" and "Azumi 2" films
where 10 young assasins were trained to kill three War Lords
incluided Sanada Yukimura.

That history incluid Sasuke Sarutobi too in the first film.
BTW Ijinmibu, Which is your source? It was true this episode?
(I don`t made reference to Azumi, I want to know about the assasin
team).

Best regards,

Helly

*...and people wonder why I cringe when people mention
movies as a historical source...*

Sarutobi Sasuke is a FICTIONAL character. One who
commonly appears in various fictional works, but
fictional nonetheless.

And Azumi/Azumi 2 are possibly 2 of the worst movies
ever. Mindless stupid fun, yes. Anything resembling
anything near historical accuracy? No.

This sort of thing happens when people unquestioningly use films as
"sources" without any investigation.

Very few, if any films, are meant to be depictions of factual history. Had
this poster actually investigated the situation with Sanada Yukimura, he
would have found out that the portrayal of his encounter with Sarutobi
Sasuke in "Azumi" and "Azumi 2" was fictional -- because Sarutobi Sasuke is
fictional.

What films can be, however, are "stepping off" points to investigate actual
history.

By the way, the Azumi films were pure fictional fantasy. And I loved them.

I agree with you Nina. BTW nobody said that Azumi/Azumi2 are serious reference historical sources, this is just in the mind of the spies "madeinhome".

I prefer Aya Ueto in this kind of fun films than any "mindless stupid" films about spiooonage! hehehe.

I love her too.

Bes regards,

Helly

I was under the impression that the poster knew this, and was making
a point. Or maybe I put too much faith in people being able to
realize that a winged flying monkey-boy with a tail is probably a
fictional character.
