For such a wide view of the period, well... I got a
nice surprise checking the main book of the
role-playing-game "Sengoku". Well, in the case that
your interest would go in such line.

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

He was suspected to have been assassinated on the order of Tokugawa
Ieyasu, but I think that is inconclusive.

Not asking for very much, are you!

Clothes: http://www.iz2.or.jp/english/ <http://www.iz2.or.jp/english/>

Towns: Yes, they had them. What info are you after?

Castles: They had those, too. Varied from smally hastily built shanty
castles to the big stone walled castles: http://www.jcastle.info/castle/
<http://www.jcastle.info/castle/>

Stories: Get this book:

Songs: Yeah, they had songs. Do a search for traditional Japanese songs
I guess, but who knows what period they will be from.

Hairstyle: Variety of different styles. Plenty of info on google, I
won't bother listing individual links.

Weapons: Yari, naginata, teppo, bow, oh, and swords too.

Well, I had earlier asked about some good reading materials for this
period on the list, but my inquiry was ignored.

Other books to look at, on a more academic level:

Sansom, History of Japan 1334-1615
Berry, Culture of Civil War in Kyoto
Berry, Hideyoshi
Lamers, Japonius Tyrannus
Cooper, They Came to Japan
Matsunaga, Foundations of Japanese Buddhism, Volume 2
Elison, Warlords, Artists, & Commoners

2. Equipment and weapons
3. Buddist stories
4. War strategy books
5. Castle books
6. Individual battle books
7. Individual person books
8. Ships and sea operations
9. Campaign books

etc. etc.

Please let me know what you prefer
