RE: Forum Rules

Again, the moderators kindly request that everyone reads the "rules"
of the forum to keep things both running smoothly and to keep things
roughly on topic. The moderators hold ultimate power over this
list, but try to be reasonable - anyone who has been on this list
for more than a few months should already know this. Sometimes,
though, things get out of hand and the moderator(s) are forced to
step in and do some housecleaning. To prevent any
further "misunderstandings", we again kindly request that everyone
just takes a look at the rules, and all play nice :)

Looks like the yahoo group URLs for files are not static, so if this
one doesn't work, you can find the file in the "files" section -

History of Japanese Occupation

by antoniuspujo

Dear All,

I am a graduate school student in Japan. I am writing about Bushido and The Spirit of War.
I made a list the history of Japanese Occupation to Asia, from early period of Japan, but I have no enough confidence to present it to my profesor.
If you have some qualified information about it, would you like to share it with me. Please also write the books for references.

Regards,

What period are you talking about?

I have a list of references about the Japanese Invasion of Korea in the 1590s
that I could send you if you are interested.

Re: [samuraihistory] History of Japanese Occupation

Hello Antonius,

I presume your "early period of Japan" is the late 16th century. I have you
put "admiral yi" into a google search string (5,050 hits). Also, perhaps
"turtle ships" ( 1,230 hits). These cover the period of Toyotomi
Hideyoshi's ill-fated invasion of Korea in 1592. Try combinations of these.
For example 'hideyoshi korea invasion' (without quotes) brought forth 5,450
hits. I'm sure all of this is fertile field for your list.

[samuraihistory] History of Japanese Occupation

by antoniuspujo

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your attention and your help for my case,
I already try to made a list The History of Japanese Occupation.
For Ex. 200 AD Expansion to Korea by Empress Jingu (I find this explanation in www.1911encyclopedia.org, but I can not find it in Japanese History Book), 1573-1600 Expansion to Korea by Hideyoshi, 1609 Expansion to Kingdom Ryukyu by Clan Satsuma, etc. Until WW II.
I can not 100% use Japanese Book sources, because they are not write some fact clearly, So I need some source, for example from Korean History, Chinese History, or Western History.
By this research, I just want to proove that "Bushido" and "The Spirit of War" have a close relation.
Thank you friends. I am waiting for your comments.
