new member on board

by biz_in_japan

G'day all,

My name is Warren, I'm living in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia and I've
just joined this group. I've been searching the net for some good
sites about authentic, historically documented armour and clothes
patterns (and manufacturing steps for the armour - do it yourself
type stuff). Can anyone point me in the right direction(s)?

Thanks for your time

Warren,

Go to:

Sengokudaimyo.com

Tony's site is the most complete japanese armour construction reference in
English.

Thanks Michael,

Japanese language sites are ok for me as thats my major at uni. Does
anyone know of any other good (japanese language) sites about
authentic, historically documented armour and clothes patterns
(and/or manufacturing steps for the armour - do it yourself type
stuff). Thanks

Warren,

No problem. Although skill in nihongo doesn't necessarily translate to
skill in Nihon katchu terms[ :) ] there are also some good links from Tony's
site as well. Of course a google search with the keyword katchu
(j@should turn up a couple as well. Still as far as DIY there's
nothing better English OR Japanese that I know of.
