HI

Quest has produced a video on the Morishine Ryu (or it
could be Morishige Ryu) and this features the Ryu
which trains Hojutsu, the art of using the match lock.

they demonstrate frequently in Japan usualy in full
japanese armour.

Hi, for some good information on matchlocks there are some good books by Dr. Steven Turnbull which deal with the arms and armourt of Japan in great detail, including the matchlock.

You may be talking about a book entitled THE JAPANESE MATCHLOCK - A Story of
the Tanegashima by Sugawa Shigeo published in both Japanese and English. He
is a charming man and I met him a few years ago. I believe he is a member of
The Japanese Muzzle-Loading Shooting Association where they shoot these
guns. At that time he was working at Dentsu Inc in Tokyo.
