Sono Toki.... Takeda Shingen

by kitsuno

For anyone in Japan, the next episode of "Sono Toki, Rekishi ga
Ugoita" is on Takeda Shingen. It airs on 9/1 at 9:15PM. I think it
is on NHK.

Anyone else catch this episode? It covered Takeda Shingen's
infrastructure and financial works in Kai, rather than the battles.
Actually pretty interesting. Next week, 9/8 at 9:15PM is on Oda
Nobunaga - now that the olympics are over, it looks like they are
moving back to the Sengoku era.

Missed it--too much else going on. Sounds interesting,
though, and I'll catch the Nobunaga one next week.

Does anyone know if this show is coming out in other countries? Or
does anyone know where I can get my hands on these episodes.

england-japan

by qunyux

I don't know anything about the history of neither Japan nor England, but in this limited knowledge I still can figure some similarities between both. Would some answer my questions?

does shogunatte (is it correct?) have in common with parlementary in England? What about daimyo and land Lord? I still cannot figure out what the similar for samurai.

Maybe I too narrow simplify both huge history.

sincerly,

cat

I would look at pre-parliamentary England.

The samurai never had any kind of democratic assembly, so drawing
parallels would be difficult.
