New to the board

by retalt

Hi all, I am new to this board and thought I would say hi. My name is
Richard Turner and I live in Perth, Western Australia and am a
Nihonto enthusiest. I am looking forward to reading lots of good info
on smaurai here, a freind put me onto this with a copy of a recent
thread on the film the Twilight Samurai, one of my favorite recent
movies.

Just for interest, I would like to confirm a Mon. I have a Fuchi
Kashira with the Fuchi having a mon on each side. One is the Meada
mon, the other I think is the Iori-Mokkô mon.

Hi! Welcome to the list - you'll find a lot of really knowledgable
folks here.

This is indeed an ume-bachi mon, which appears to be the version
used by Maeda Toshiie. There were a few variations with
very slight differences so it's hard to be 100% sure it's the Maeda
version - but it's a good bet.

I concur again - it's an Iori Mokkou, usually used by the Itoh (伊東)
though also by the Itoh (伊藤).

Tom
Try and cut the address for the Katana and past it into word or
something then place the curser after the "k" so it says "Kotto0120",
now cut and past in the browser. Should look something like

Hi Richard
Welcome to the group. I live in Sydney and am also a huge
Nihonto fanatic. Actually I love all kinds of swords, weather it is
Japanese, France, and Chinese etc. The people hear are full of
interesting information and always willing to help. I hope to share
information on all manners of topics with your-self especially on my
favoured subject the Japanese Sword.
