Hello everone,

My name is Daniel and I have joined this list for a school project on the
Samurai. I found this list from www.samurai-archives.com and I am hoping
to learn as much as I can about the Samurai from this list.
If anyone has any links to good sites about the Samurai, could you please
send them to me?

Thanks,
Dan Zollman

Dan:

You want to try www.japan-guide.com. Although it is not specificly about samurai it has information about japan's history.

Good luck,
Rod

The obvious answer is "it depends on the person", and mainstream
beliefs about it depend on which period in Japanese history you are
talking about.

The mythical creatures mentioned here, to which Musashi acredited his
learning of the ways of the sword are called the Tunji. They had wings
and could fly and fought with the sword amongst themselves supposedly.

They were called "Tengu", not "Tunji". And it's not
Musashi, it was Minamoto Yoshitsune who supposedly
learned to fight from the Tengu.
