Assuming that information in Japanese is OK, would this (and
associated pages at the same site) be helpful at all?

Does anyone have any information (texts, webites, &c) that present information upon early fortifications, such as those constructed in Tohoku during the Early Nine Years and Later Three Years Wars, or the defences erected during the Genpei War, such as at Ichinotani?
Thanks in advance

Thank you, and Mr Alexander, sorry Edy, for the links but I was referring not to Shiro of the latter, admittedly somewhat more magnificient Sengokujidai variety, but the rather earlier, ad hoc fortifications of the wars fought prior to 1185. We all know I'm sure as the field fortifications erected to protect the Oda-Tokugawa lines at Nagashino, but what did earlier field fortifications amount to? Sorry if my request was unclear, but thank you (both) for your replies).

PS. Sites in Japanese would be fine
