That was quite interesting. I taped the new Chushingura miniseries from TV
Tokyo and hope to watch it soon ( as soon as I get through some of the other
shogatsu jidai geki).
Its also interesting to note that this year 2003 will be the 150th
anniversary of Kurofune, Perrys opening of Japan. NHK just did a 2 hour
documentary on the subject. I am curious to see if there will be any other
events books movies perhaps to commemorate this part of history. Has anybody
heard anything?
