A Letter from Kondo

by secretarytocapt3

This is a blog post entirely in Japanese
you can sort of get a sense of it by inserting the page into
http://www.nifty.com/globalgate

If anyone here on the mailing list has time, please translate it for
us so we can learn more about this document.

The blog
http://blog.drecom.jp/hinojyukuhonjin_kentoukai/

also posts at http://www.hino-shinsengumi.com

I think it could be a temporary technical issue....I hope!

That blog has wonderful Shinsengumi information

All really great Japanese links can be found here:

OK,the blog entry is about their meeting in July 9.
The letter is explaining why they decided to remain Kyoto and how they were
hired by Aizu.
And asking to send some armors and swords and Kenjutsu bogu.

The letter is very very long.
Here is modern Japanese translation.
http://bakumatu.727.net/kenpaku/kenpaku-b3-kondo-2.htm

Most parts are "How Kyoto is dangerous" "I(Kondo) will work hard for
Sonno-Joui"
I am sorry, I just don't have time to translate whole thing.

Thank you kobayakawa
I was wondering when people in the west will have a chance to learn
about Kondou's....danshoku letter...which mentions homosexuality in
the Shinsengumi. That letter is very important....

::hehehehe::
