Shinto as in shrines and temples, rather than swords. A comprehensive, encyclopaedic, cross-referenced online resource written by Japanese authorities at Kokugakuin University and translated into excellent English (also German, French, Russian chapter introductions). It is the "Establishment of a National Learning Institute for the Dissemination of Research on Shinto and Japanese Culture", essentially all you could want to know.

Recently, I saw the original version of the 47 Ronin/Samurai, Genroku Chushingura.

Who was the Ronin guarding the bridge?

His name used in the movie and the actual actor portraying him?

what is the original version?anyway...in inagakis version it is Tawaraboshi Gemba who is guarding the bridge,played by Mifune Toshiro....(version is 1962 chuushingura...)regards..Jore
