SAMURAI WEBSITE DISCOVERED...

by Barry Thomas

Dear All,

This is such an interesting site that I'm sure I'm the last person on this list to find it, but just in case:

http://uk.geocities.com/rainforestwind/legends.htm

I've spent the last hour or so there on Oda Nobunaga alone...

Best regards,

Barry Thomas.

The site looks cool. I guess I am the last to find it after you so dont feel bad. But it does not work for me. How do you get it to work?

James,

In your reply I notice a space between "geocities" and ".com" in the url address. This should not be there. Press and hold your left mouse button and run the cursor over that entire address line and copy it to the clipboard (press "Ctrl" and "C" together). Then paste it into your browser address bar (click to put the cursor there - the entire address bar should then be selected - then press "Ctrl" and "V" together to paste the address AND REMOVE ANY SPACES (I see another space between the 'i' and 'n' in "wind"). Then press "Enter" and it should work. It appears to have worked for others already. Please get back to me offline if this does not work.

Regards,

Barry Thomas.

Here is the proper link:

http://uk.geocities.com/rainforestwind/legends

Interesting site. Though they could have dispensed with the modern "cool" language i.e. "Showdown In Old Tokyo" (in the 47 Ronin section). Also, when you click on Miyamoto Musashi, you get some information about Sanada Yukimura (who was "one heck of a guy" according to the site).

Thanks for the pickup Nina.

> Here is the proper link:
Yeah, could have done that, but I catered for those who might not have been "with it"... Also, I have no idea how the spaces got there and didn't want to risk it happening again.

> Though they could have dispensed with the modern "cool" language
HAHAHAHAHA - I was going to mention that!!! However, I didn't mind it at all. Thought it was kinda "funky" - if a 63 year old bloke can use modern words he doesn't really understand... Perhaps I should say "kawai desu". AND if a website builder goes to an enormous amount of work - ENORMOUS - he/she can choose their own "language mode" I reckon.

Barry Thomas.

It's a video game/anime fan site rather than a "history" site (in the
strictest sense).

I have seen that site before. I forgave the language because for one,
I talk like a retard too and two it gives it greater appeal to randome
people like kids just starting to study samurai and doesn't make it
seem too scholarly like most other resources.
