Always wanted to read the tale of the Genji? Now is your chance.

Always wanted to read Tale of Genji, by Murasaki Shikibu? Well, now is your
chance. The Japanese history reading group will be reading Genji Monogatari
in June.



As most of you know, this is THE classic novel of Japan, roughly equivalent
in importance in Japan as Shakespeares's Hamlet and Homer's Iliad and
Odyssey are in Western literature. We have a proposed reading schedule, as
shown below. Anyone can join us. Please see the following website of the
