HI Mike
thats sad to hear, it is a shame to hear that another
traditional craftsman is no longer working.
My firend is married to a japanese girl whose father
is a traditional wood working craftsman. His main area
of skill is restoring temples/shrines. Because of his
work he gets to see areas some of only hear of.
He recently told my friend he is sad that he does not
have an apprentise to pass his familys hertiage on to.

Paul,
Actually, Matsushita-sensei ({Kozando}one of my
teachers) doesn't make
armour anymore. He is reselling Marutake -san's
(yoroi.co) work. I'll be
visiting Matsushita-san next week and possibly
spending a week at Marutake's
next month.
Note: NONE of this armour is up to standards for
combat organizations (SCA
etc.).
