Seeking kura information

Greetings from a new list member!

I have searched the archives, and was unable to find anything that
fit my needs.

I am trying to locate research sources that will allow me to re-
construct a period kura and the rest of the necessary tack to outfit
my horse.

I've founds tons of pictures, but trying to re-create a working kura
with the information I've got would be like trying to build a car
without the slightest clue as to how an engine works... It might
LOOK similar, but in reality it just wouldn't work right....

If ANYONE has any information on all that would help me, I would
greatly appreciate any assistance...

I dont have the relevant in fo you require, bu if your
in th eUk then visit the royal armouries in leeds.
They have two wonderful sets mounted on full size
models of horses.

if you contact them may be they could supply you with
some info

Thanks for the info. The good news is, I've been to Leeds. Can't
wait to go back and visit again. ABSOLUTELY LOVED my visit to London
and other places back in 2001...

The bad news is, I don't live in UK. I live near Topeka, Kansas...

I'll see if I can contact them and see if they can help. I'm also
trying to find some contact information for some of the living
history groups in Japan that do yabasume. They have to get their
information from somewhere...

Do a search for the Equestrian Museum of Yokohama. They do
some interesting things with Yabusame, Tanegashima and other
re-enactments in addition to their excellent static displays and
collection.

I SHOULD be in Tokyo within the next 2 weeks. I know one of the antique
stores I will be visiting has bits (saddles as well) if you'd like me to get
you some prices.

Its a japanese site and there is no english page.

if you wanted to buy you would need a contact in
Japan as none of these people will deal outside of
