Care to give us a little more background than that?
I've never heard of December 5th being "Day of the
Ninja". There's no "Ninja Day" parades scheduled here
in Tokyo. Please elaborate on what the heck you are
talking about.

I agree. I am an experienced martial artist with the JKA and I've never heard of it either. I suppose it could be the birthday of a famous grandmaster of the art of Ninjutsu.
See ya.

Being a martial artist has nothing to do with it.
There is no "Day of the Ninja", at least not in the
sense like a specific holiday or something. It sounds
like a cross between a bad movie and a Hallmark
holiday gone horribly wrong.

I just did a google on it, and it is an advertising ploy (or a joke)
from Ninja Burgers. For more information, if you are so masochistically
inclined, go to http://www.ninjaburger.com/dayoftheninja/

OK I just ran 'Day of the Ninja' on dogpile. Apparently this is only
the second annual 'Day of the Ninja' (Dec 5) which was begun last
year by ninjaburger.com They sell Ninja stuff and have cool info on
the Ninja world (we think but are not sure so do not go ballistic on
us).

They recommend doing good deeds, dress like Ninjas, etc. but don't go
wild in the streets.

Any other info about this day will be greatly appreciated. See ya
soon and thanks again-K&K

PS- Dec 6 is St Nicholas Day though.-K&K

Being a long time Ninjutsu practitioner I have never heard of "Ninja
Day".
Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi's Birthday is on Dec 5th, if that is the
grandmaster you are refering to..

That's totally bogus. Everyone knows that the purpose of the ninja is to flip
out and kill people.

Sorry but NO we did not know it was a satirical website! What site

the historical allocations on Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X which seems
to be almost historically accurate!

The RK shrine has a cool history page too. Thanks and see ya soon-K&K

Acutely, Ninjutsu is a form of martial arts, which incorporate a lot
of street fighting techniques, to be blunt dirty tactics. We are
taught that on the street anything can happen example, one person in
a park could confront you when all of a sudden three of his friends
appear from behind. Anyway we have this technique called the win-win
situation, deal with one with quick blows then move on. Aiming to
attack soft parts of the body (the groin, throat, arm pits. etc)
don't get me wrong that not all we are taught but is a significant
part of the art.
Now to deal with this Ninja day, Have never heard of it, checked out
the website and from what I can gather seems like a lot of rubbish to
me. Will talk to my senses though and see if he knows anything about
it. Thing is though, there was a large workshop on Sunday the 4th
hear in Australia and no one mentioned anything about it

Apparently there are no techniques to recognize
sarcasm, irony, or satire.

I'll spell it out for everyone: THE WEBSITE IS A BOGUS
JOKE! AS IS THE ULTIMATE POWER WEBSITE. ANY OF YOU WHO
CANNOT RECOGNIZE THAT AND TAKE IT AT ALL SERIOUSLY
NEED EITHER MENTAL COUNSELING, REMEDIAL LOGIC, OR A
GOOD SWIFT BASEBALL BAT TO THE HEAD!

There IS NO NINJA DAY. STOP IT. NOW!

(Zev: this last part isn't directly at you--it's at
everyone. Don't take it personally.)

Oh my God, even I am on Tony's page: The shinobi were spies and opportunists. No 'honor' whatsoever. Whoever paid the most got the
job. Look up 'Chiyome' circa approximately 1560.

The only thing I think they allegedly accomplished was making popular the color black. In reality, the color was a very dark blue.
Black against black still casts an outline.
