they are available to obtain or if someone is willing to arrange video copies
from the tv

| We're not three episodes into this years drama Hojo |Tokimune and I've
heard that next years drama has |already been decided. I will be about Maeda
Toshie and |his wife. I've only heard this by word of mouth and not in
|print. Can anyone confirm this?

It was on NHK this week that the drama will be on
Maeda Toshie. Filming starts in August.

They are broadcast in Hawaii and California with subtitles, may want to look for
someone thereabouts.

I live in Japan so all that I see is only in Japanese. I know that taiga
drama is shown in Hawaii and the west coast with english subtitles. Whether
they are available cassette I don't know. Most of the taiga dramas are
available in condensed form on video, available from NHK through a company
called Amuse Family Video http://www.amuse-soft.co.jp/ , but they're all in
Japanese. I tape a lot of jidai geki (running up to 200 titles) and would be
willing to make some form of trade. Please email me.

If you have a choice, go for the ones done in Hawaii - they do a far
better job with the subtitles. Otherwise, any self-respecting
japanese video store in america will have at least the most recent
taiga dramas available - although minus the subtitles.

WHen I lived in the Bay Area (up until 1998) it was on Channel 26 on Saturday
and Sunday nights. the samurai dramas were usually Sunday at 9PM.
