Pulling apart a Sword

by zevlord

Hi all just have a quick question, does anyone know how to pull apart
a katana sword or would you happen to know where I might find this
information. Have searched goggle under "pulling apart a
katana", "how to cleaning a sword", "dismantling a sword" and many
others but get nothing even close. Any help would be appreciated

In the hilt, possible under the wrapping you'll find a small pin, proberbly
wooden. Pull this out and the hilt will come away from the blade. The part
of the blade that extends up under the hilt is where you will usually find
the maker's mark.

Hi

the main peg is located near the Tsuba (guard som e
swords have a second peg.

The are also some times wedge shaped and come out of
one side only.

Depending how long its been on the blade it may not
come off too easily. if it dont move rfreely

hold the sword in the hand so the balde is vertical,
and strike down on your wrist the shock should loosen
the blade.

when you take the bits off the blade lay them down in
the order you took them off so they go back the same.

But why do you want to remove the handle if there is
no need to dont
