Hello! New to the Group.

by barbie_runs_amok

Greetings,

My name is Amy, occasionally known as Saiaiko, and I've been lurking
in the shadows for a bit. Probably, I'll stay there until I feel I
have something to contribute, but I wanted to introduce myself.

I am very interested in the late Heian - early Kamakura periods,
specifically the Gempei War. I have recently acquired a fine yumi,
optimistically named Benkei, and am currently learning technique. I
have enjoyed your discussions so far, especially the passionate
ones, and I look forward to learning from them.

Thank you.

~ Amy

PS: Is it kosher to post a background I created in the Files area?

informations about GENGO

by eriel666

Could someone of you tell me some informations about the dating sistem known as "gengou" or "nengou". I know it was adopted in japan since VII century (Taika Reform) and it was interrupted in 1947 with the institution of the constitution. I also know that in 1979 Ohira Masayoshi decided for the not obligatoriness of the use of this dating sistem. Now, all I want to know is how this sistem works.

Sorry for the long preface!

Salut!

Daniele
