Having sat down and finally plowed thru this I have to agree with the last
posting the Ninja-to comes from theatre. If there were cheap and mass produced
they would still be seen som/ewhere in Japan. Outside of "Ninja" museums I have
yet to encounter one.
I am very much intrigued by the scholarly tone of many of these posts.
Anyone know of Japanese sources for any of this info?

Tom

Dear Mr. Helm,
I'm on many lists, and will forward your question to
all the relevant lists I'm on. You may get personal replies to your own
mailbox, and If I spot any posts relevant on the other lists, I'll forward
them to you through the samuraihistory list.

Respectfully,

E.
