Yes, when you cut down peasants to test your blades, you probably get
talked about.

Computers and their manufacture are quite polluting as well. Though you
get points for not owning a car.

You do realize that for most of history that samurai were
warrior/soldiers that basically killed for their lords and later on were
used to oppress the commoners. If that's something you think is cool,
well hmmmmm. You may want to study up on Confucius/Zen/etc. Otherwise I
suspect you will find this list of little use since we are interested in
history and except for a few weekend play samurai I doubt that anybody
here has your goal of being a samurai.

many samurai were crood and many were not ,time has
offered us the power status of which a samurai came to
be known but verious times shown those like kings over
knights have not kept their vow and those that have
made it their virtue in keeping their credit between
them and the heavens and in turn those are the true
samurai whom have done for a master intuition of
gaining their keep sake untel they could survive on
their own terms ,like holding a job against our
beliefs long enough to earn what we feel we need to go
are own way ,and to this is what many have done to
keep a vow and some who left their master made groups
of their own but many vannish like ghosts to be with
the earth as their sword being their own master and
were forgotten or sought out by their masters army.
and those that were forgotten are the true keepers of
the samurai way.

The forgotten were the protectors of the samurai way?

It could be argued that those who were forgotten were
those who had deserted or been forced to remove
themselves from service, and thus became forgotten
outside the world of the written word, or legend.
Without providing their service, the term 'samurai'
becomes little more than a personal anachronism.
Service to oneself is not the way of the samurai.
