The Yamato Dynasty: The Secret History of Japan's Imperial Family
By Sterling Seagrave

I've seen reviews about this book, ranging from 'amazing revelations
on the imperial family' to 'it is complete and utter trash'. Anyone
here actually read this?

I read it. while its not completely utter trash it leans on conjecture and
rumor and not hard facts. It would be better to read Herbert Bix's Hirohito
for some balance.

Personal opinion: the book is trash, useful only for propping up a too-short
table leg or holding a door open. If you want to read a *good* book that's a
bit expose-like, try Bix's "Hirohito." That one won a pile of awards and is
universally regarded.
