I've been looking around for information on what started this incident and so far have no luck. What exactly happened?
Some sources that I read said it was the Iga men who started the problems by making unprovoked attacks to Ise. Some says it's Oda Nobuo being rash and wanting to make a name for himself. Some say that there were rebels from Ise who ran and hid in Iga and Nobuo only wanted to take care of those rebels.
I read Shinchou-ko ki and this was something that was barely mentioned at all, so that's no help either. There was a letter from Nobunaga implying that Nobuo was supposed to be joining campaigns in another place, but instead opted to pursue Iga, but the reason WHY was never said.
Anyone can help me here?
