Kyoto patrols

by bsher213

Has it been established which police group patrolled which areas or
where their various jurisdictions began and ended?

Particularly who would be called upon to handle a situation in Shimabara
or did they all leave the red-light district dwellers to their own devices?

gaaahhh,
I read "somewhere" that the Mimawarigumi did control an area around a
"certain" temple...someone here knows for sure.

Most probably the Shinsengumi, if the situation
involved "terrorism" or the like. If it was only a
common brawl, the dwellers would certainly take care
of it or the Machi Bugyo/Kyoto Shoshidai if it was
really a serious incident (but without involving
terrorism and Ishin Shishi and the like).

Serizawa, Thank you for the information.

Is the Machi Bugyo the same as Kyoto Shoshidai? Masayoshi clued me in on
the Shoshidai a short time back.

It's good to know that my initial "guess" wasn't wrong especially since
it works for my fictional purposes.

Barbara,

I don't remember the exact details, but the Machi
Bugyo worked under orders of Kyoto Shoshidai, if I'm
not mistaken.
