OT: Dagger of Kamui

Ok, has anyone ever heard of this anime? It's supposed to be old. I
think it came out in 1985 or somewhere around there? The reason I was
wondering is I saw something that mentioned the Battle of Goryokaku
is shown near the end. I seriously doubt Hijikata is mentioned
anywhere in the film, but it might be interesting if there is
anything much about the Boshin War in it. Does anyone know?

I'm totally confused...I definately saw this film before many years
ago before I became enamored with the Shinsengumi...I recall alot of
sci-fi fantasy elements but Hijikata? -I really don't remember-

Like I said before, I really doubt you would see Hijikata in it anywhere. It's the battle at Goryokaku that is supposed to be in it. They could have completely skipped over his part in all that easily. It's more about some ninja kid or the like. I just thought that if they did show anything of the war in Hokkaido it might be worth my while. That's what I'm really trying to find out.

Here's a quick summary of the story... Hmm... Seems to have very low
grades for an anime... OH well...

This sounds to me like it would be rather...weird. I found another review that mentions Mark Twain is in the story?! And they're after the treasure of Captain Kid?! And he's a ninja?! Um...they were really going for deversity in this thing, huh?

Yep Mark Twain is in it...my sister was like...that guy looks like
Mark Twain and then the character said "I am M-ark T-wain"...the movie
was trying to capture an "expanded vision" of the world
