street views up on Google Maps for Japan

Admittedly, I haven't spent much time with this yet, but thought I'd
pass it along to those who are explorers at heart and, like me, can't
afford to fly across the bigger pond to Japan.

I think Google may have this going for other cities in the world. Well,
now they have it up for the Tokyo area, Kyoto/Osaka/Kobe, Sendai,
Hakodate, Otaru & Sapporo. The little camera icons on the map show
where there are street views available. Once you're on a street level
map, whenever you click on a point on that map, it'll take you to that
point visually.

Leave it to spiritus saitou to find the ultimate online time killer.

My desktop was able to see a truck backing up out of a parking lot
though. Then my system sort of slowed down alot.

I bet if this was available a few years we could drop down into Kyoto
and see gift shops full of Shinsengumi merchandise.

Technology is soooo scary!
