From the blog comments, There is a temple in Tsuruoka which hold Okita
family's record.
And the record has description like "Souji's child"

It would make some sense if the Tsuruoka that the record is located in is
the one also known as Shonai, as there was (an) Okita Rintaro who was under
Shonai-han patronage in the Shinchogumi.
