Aizu Matsudaira are tied to the Mito house by blood (a LOT of
adoptions/marriages, mainly between Mito, Aizu, and the infamous/famous Ii
of Hikone), so I'm not surprised. Incidentally, the current head of the Mito
house, from what I understand, is Tokugawa Fumitake.
