:-D It confused me at first, too, but I got it on the second pass (I hope)...

In the first pic, you see Itou privately entertaining Kondou. Then you cut to the series of frames of Hijikata (? I haven't seen the NHK drama yet) giving Kondou(?) a hard time about being coaxed into something (the allusion being something sexual, obviously) and Kondou telling him Itou did it very well. Then you cut to Hijikata(?) assigning Saitou the task of joining Itou's group and report back on "minute details". The clasping hands kind of says it all. :-D

Any less confused? (And I apologize if I've gotten it wrong or ruined the joke for anyone if I got it right).

I got it the first go around. LOL I'm not sure which is worse, that or
Hijikata's reaction to Saitou telling him that Ito wasn't "looking for a partner."
