For those who are interested, there goes the lyrics:

Aa Shinsengumi

Kamo no kawara ni chidori ga sawagu
Mata mo chi no ame namida ame
Bushi to iu na ni inochi wo kakete
Shinsengumi wa kyou mo yuku

Koi mo nasake mo yadama ni sutete
Ikusa kasaneru Toba Fushimi
Tomo ni shiraha wo sabishiku kazashi
Shinsengumi wa tsuki ni naku

Kiku no kaori ni Aoi ga kareru
Karete chiru chiru kaze no naka
Kawaru jisei ni senaka wo mukete
Shinsengumi yo doko e yuku

A VERY ROUGH translation:

"The birds are restless at the margins of the Kamo
river
Again, there is a rain of blood, a rain of tears
Betting their very soul to live by the title of
'warrior'
the Shinsengumi goes today once again

Their loves and emotions being sacrificed by arrows
and bullets
Endless wars, endless battles, Toba and Fushimi
Wielding their silver blades together, they stand
alone, a melancholical scene
the Shinsengumi cries under the pale moon

In the scent of the chrysanthemum, the hollyhock
withers
It withers and scatters amidst the blowing wind
Turning their backs to the changing times
O, Shinsengumi, where are you heading to?"

Note: The Chrysanthemum is the Emperor, the hollyhock
is the Tokugawa Shogunate.

I am ready to sing door to door to collect money for sake with the
third squad...
first of all people who have never been exposed to Asian "folk"
sounding songs may not like it (what were you expecting j-pop?). It
strangely has a very similar flavor to Thai folk songs (male singer
with very feminine? sounding voice)...in anycase...I can now sing the
song ^_^ without the music
*tips*
1) print out SK's lyrics and notice where the syllables are "slurred"
or blended with the next word e.g. "Shin sen guuuuuumiWA" but in terms
of words I guess it really is "Shinsengumi wa"
2) once you have drawn lines and placed emphasis or de-emphasis marks
e.g. for Toba Fushimi (notice that all the syllables in the word
Fushimi receive equal emphasis NOT fuSHImi)
3) lastly sing along with the singer and practice his way of intoning
the words

*remember when we all go to Japan and try to attend a Shinsengumi club
meeting we are going to be kicked out...however to show how sincere we
are we may have to break out in chorus with this song and they may let
us in ^_^
