New motto

by shimazuryu

Barb and I were talking about my new fic, "Rokugatsu no Yume" (with
Shinsengumi fundoshi humor all over the place), and I came up with a
new slogan for our group:

SHINSENGUMI: Puts the FUN in FUNdoshi!

No, no... REVEALS the FUN in fundoshi.... :-D I didn't put it there (though I admit I wouldn't've minded helping).

Wait a minute... *Everyone* should just ignore me. Technology is *BEYOND* being evil to me today and my frustration is affecting my thinking. I initially read that as "ShinsengumiHQ". Of course the Shinsengumi put the fun in fundoshi... duh!

Re: New motto

by secretarytocapt3

Or how about NHK Hijikata's ideas to improve Shieikan's enrollment
"You can be a samurai too"...well might have to change it to "You too
can be a samurai" :P

So far in the NHK drama I've seen Harada's bannana yellow fundoshi
(Hijikata singing scene), and conservative grey (Hijikata+Kondo as
they try to approach the black ships) and most of us have seen plain
white in Bakumatsu Zankoku Monogatari...but seriously folks if we are
planning to get to Japan IN STYLE (cover shopping expenses, extensive
stay at Aizu's hot springs and surveillance equipment to hunt down
certain actors) we have got to somehow simplify the fundoshi design
and mass market it....I mean it really enhances the male
physique...and we'll all be kicking ourselves if some big company
produces it...(sigh) what if it hits the runways in Paris someday (or
shows up in a widely circulated men's magazine) and becomes a trend :P

secretarytocapt3...fallen under the spell of Jo Odagiri
I've seen screenshots and official pics but in episode 4 you really
see how he uses his eyes to act...perfect casting! I can't wait to see
the next episodes but he wasn't only collecting money for a dojo but
for "women" because he even knew that the guy was buying women (he
mentioned it to Serizawa)...ohhhh it seems that NHK Saitou is
moonlighting as a brothel money collector.

Sorry, but I just don't like NHK Okita...Okita from
Mibugishiden/Shinsengumi Kepp. were much better and it has nothing to
do with getting used to the actor either because the first moment I
saw Shinsen.Kepp. Okita I thought "he's perfect" and the ~darker~
Okita in Mibugishiden is realistic a perfect combo of a smiling ass
kicking kinda guy.

Folks I think that Okita from Mibugishiden came up with the best slogan for the group: "We are the Shinsengumi! We have business!" LOL!
